Today, at approximately 11:30 am a paddleboarder off of Lovers Point Beach had a shark encounter approximately 150 yards off Lovers Point Pier. The paddleboard was bit by the shark, but the paddleboarder is uninjured. Lovers Point Beach and coastal access starting at the Sea Palm turnout through Saturday, August 13, 2022. We ask our community members and visitors, to contact local public safety agencies in the event of a shark encounter or sighting.
