Re: Vacant City Council Seat

How about Albert Shark for mayor or councilmember? I would suggest Stretch as a candidate, too, but he has already said he doesn't have the time. Bring back stores like Grove Pharmacy, Sprouse-Reitz, and Top Hat Market to Lighthouse Avenue. Bring back the real "Good Old Days" and get t...

Re: Lisa Maddelena, Chamber City Employee of the Year

Congratulations, Lisa! Lisa is one of the few current employees who was with the City when I retired, and I remember her as a very good employee. It looks as if Colangelo missed a few during his purge of some of the best long-time City employees.

Re: PG City- New Website- New URL?

.GOV is okay but the big question is who uses it? There are approximately 480 incorporated municipalities in California and most of those cities and towns registered domain names prior to 2003 when the .gov TLD became available to them. The vast majority of California cities use the naming conve...

Re: PG City- New Website- New URL?

I like Stretch's suggestion for pacificgrove.gov. Originally, the .GOV TLD was reserved for U. S. government organizations, but in 2003 the GSA adopted a new rule that permits state and local governments to obtain .GOV domain names. Even if the City were in good financial condition, I don't believ...

Thank You For This Forum.

Thank you, Handy, for this forum. This forum and Stretch's Lighthouse Avenue blog are two of my primary sources of information about Pacific Grove which, for me, truly was "The Last Hometown."

Re: Candidates for City Coucil Seats

I've been told that Jim Quinn is a nice guy and would probably be a good choice for appointment to the city council, but he is NOT the son of former Mayor Bob Quinn.

Re: PG Gets New Choice Besides Crapcast for TV--AT&T

There is speculation that download caps being imposed by ISPs who also provide TV service are designed to protect their on demand movie rental business from companies such as Netflix.

As is the case with many products and services, you can get the best AT&T U-verse deal if you order online. Here are the current monthly prices for U-verse services (not including government fees and taxes): TV: U400 = $99.00 (Up to 350 channels including HBO, Cinemax, the Sports Package, ...

Re: PG Gets New Choice Besides Crapcast for TV--AT&T

AT&T U-verse became available in my area last November. I have U-verse Advanced TV and High Speed Internet, along with AT&T's plain old telephone service with unlimited national long distance calling. I got a very attractive package price and, so far, I'm very happy with the service. You ...
