Re: Please Donate to Help the Monarchs

Although I support having new trees put in for the butterflies, in my opinion that the 'Chamber Loves Butterflies' -- What a joke. There has been for decades, on the left side of the Chamber building, an official 'Butterfly Garden' & there is a permanent sign to mark this. However, why did the...

Re: Rat Out a Local Restaurant via Sustainable PG's website

Their crab comes from a can. Ever wonder if it's true you shouldn't eat seafood on a Sunday or Mon.? The theory for this is that they don't deliver on the weekend, thus Sunday's fish is from Friday & Monday's soup is Sunday's uneaten fish. - True. http://www.yelp.com/pacific-grove-ca is prett...

Re: Plummeting Monarch Butterfly Count 2009

Also, I visited the Monarch Sactuary in August. It doesn't appear that anyone maintains the people part. There is a rusty bench that looks like a butterfly you can't use, another wood bench that's about to fall over. I think it should be maintained year round not just from Oct-April....

Papa Chano’s Taqueria: $63,000 citation

I wish they would open one in PG. In a lawsuit filed Aug. 20, brothers Horacio, Sergio and Everado Valle — who operate Papa Chano’s Taqueria eateries in Sand City and Monterey — allege a $63,000 citation issued by the California Department of Industrial Relations for keeping inaccurate payroll rec...

Re: Do You Know Who This Man Is?

There is an older guy that has to do something with PGHS & his name is Gary (?). I think someone once started a Myspace page for him with his pictures. For some reason he's important although I don't know why. I usually see him wearing a PGHS jacket. Funny thing is, most of the forum posters pr...

Re: Plummeting Monarch Butterfly Count 2009

At 375 Asilomar they cut about 24 trees, replanted 0, this I know cause they were required to put in 40, which is two for one, or 20 cut trees, the other four or so were 'bonuses.' Next door they did something similar. So now there is no tree wind protection canopy & when the wind howls more tr...

Re: Plummeting Monarch Butterfly Count 2009

The tree on Pico at Asilomar? Yes, that was a big tree. Weird thing is that I was just talking to someone a few hours before about how trees are going to fall in that area. lol But the owners get new sunshine now.

Re: Best Hamburger in PG?

I doubt it, they would have to pay for lighting in the parking area. For some reason, that wasn't part of the original design. Might be fun to see sunsets. The outdoor tables are real nice but need to be refinished. 17th St Grill needs to toast their buns on both sides otherwise they become a soggy...
